St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in Hamilton (Mercer County, N.J.), once again celebrates Greek culture and cuisine with its 40th annual Greek Festival.  The four-day fundraising event will take place from May 14 -17.

Festivities will center around the two most important ingredients for a good party – food and dance.

Attendees can savor numerous authentic Greek dishes like spanakopita, moussaka, arni kokkinisto and stuffed grape leaves.  Outdoor grills will filled the air with the scent of souvlaki and gyros.  Homemade pastries such as baklava and finikia will also be available, as will Greek wine served up at the Taverna.

Live Greek music will accompany traditional dancing in colorful folkloric costumes each evening and on Sunday, with dance lessons available for those who want to kick up their heels.  Admission for evenings is only $2.

The rain or shine event will also feature flea and gift markets and church tours (handicap accessible by ramp).  Parking is free.

Thursday, May 14, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16, noon to 11:30 p.m.; Sunday, May 17, noon to 7 p.m. – 1200 Klockner Rd., Hamilton, N.J.
