Governor Markell asks for statewide moment of silence

Governor Markell calls for a statewide moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. to remember the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.  Markell issued a statement calling on all Delawareans to pause at 9:30 this morning to reflect on the tragedy that happened one week ago in Connecticut.  “I request that Delawareans join the moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. on Friday to reflect and remember the lives that were lost so heartbreakingly, and to consider what we can do as individuals, as communities, as a state and as a country to prevent future tragedies.”
