GOP leaders convene in Philadelphia

Listen

The nation’s Top Republican leaders are in Philadlephia for a retreat.

President Donald Trump has touched down and is ready to meet with GOP members of Congress.

House Speaker Paul Ryan says his team and Trump are working together, to “fix the problems created by President Obama.”

“Everything that President Obama did by Executive Order this new president can undo. We would like to see these things undone and we would like to see power restored by the people in the states not by the federal government,” Ryan said.

Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says his two priorities are repealing and replacing Obamacare.

“We are working with the House to make sure these measures are reconcilable and the speaker understands the challenge of getting things through the senate, that’s been true for 240 years we’re aware of those challenges and we think we can move forward,” McConnell said.

The pair say they are using the retreat to map out a 200 day agenda.  Large protests are expected outside the GOP meetings and near City Hall.
