Giant hiring Genuardi’s employees as part of acquisition

Giant announced in January its acquisition of 16 Philly-area Genuardi’s stores, but it seems the new owners are trying to make Genuardi’s workers feel at home.

The Business Journal reports Giant has hired 1,700 Genuardi’s employees, and is now looking for 900 part-time workers.

It’s not clear yet when the stores will be converted, but locations in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties have the green light from Federal Trade Commission to make the switch.
