Get your green on at Manayunk’s EcoArts Festival today
The second annual Manayunk EcoArts Festival continues today on Main Street for a celebration of sustainability and healthy living.
Eco-minded businesses, nonprofits, artists and lecturers will be on tap from Levering Street to Pensdale Avenue to talk about the city’s growing green movement.
In an earlier interview with Manayunk Development Corporation’s special events coordinator and lead organizer for the festival, Martha Vidauri, she said the event aims to get people to take that extra step and “show them that it’s really easy to be green.”
Some lecturers in attendance include Siobhan O’Conner, a co-author of No More Dirty Looks: The Truth About Your Beauty Products and the Ultimate Guide to Safe and Clean Cosmetics, and Jason Ingle, executive director of Greener Partners, a local company that helps operate community farms.
If you plan on attending, don’t forget to check out the Eco Car Show, which is a new addition to the event this year. There will also be a small farmer’s market and a free clothing swap taking place on Main Street.
The event runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
