Germantown Community Connection aims to make neighborhood more involved in development process

While opponents of the Chelten Plaza development plans push forward against the developer, Germantown Community Connection is setting its sights on the future.

While the group worked to develop their own plan for Chelten Plaza, which is meant to have a better look an functionality for the neighborhood, GCC is also working toward giving the community a more active role in future development.

“The stakes here are not just about Chelten Plaza, reads a partial statement on the group’s website. “They are about how we as a community intend to conduct our community business going forward, with each other, our elected officials and potential investors.”

Amy Z. Quinn has the full report for NewsWorks, including details of how the new zoning code will affect community groups’ influence on development.
