George Washington-shaped McNugget sells for $8,100, bidder backs out
What’s stranger? Selling a McDonald’s chicken McNugget on eBay, or buying a McDonald’s chicken McNugget on eBay?
Turns out neither is as strange as it sounds. A Nebraska woman recently sold a George Washington-shaped McNugget for $8,100 after keeping it in her freezer for three years.
Update, March 9: The top bidder has dropped out.
The owner tells the Sioux City Journal she’ll approach the second-highest bidder about the $8,000 offer, but she doesn’t have high hopes of the McNugget making its way to the overseas destination in its frozen form. She’ll keep going ’til she finds a willing bidder.
The winning bidder not only has the pleasure of owning said nugget, but also the satisfaction of knowing the owner will use the money to send 50 kids from a church youth group to summer camp.
It’s a story to keep in mind because, really, don’t all McNuggets look like someone?
