Gallery: Scenes from Ortley Beach’s inaugural Bush Classic lifeguard tournament

Spirited running, rowing, swimming, and paddling were all on display during the inaugural Bush Classic lifeguard tournament in Ortley Beach on Wednesday.

Lifeguards from Midway Beach, Harvey Cedars, Ship Bottom, Lavallette, Barnegat Light, Island Beach State Park, Seaside Park, and Ortley Beach converged for an exciting evening under mostly clear skies.

Competitors battled it out in a variety of events, including 1000-foot row, surf medley (run, swim, paddle, and row), boat-swim, paddle, swim, and boat races.

After the scores were tallied, Harvey Cedars walked away as the victors.
