Frisco bound Delaware Blue Hen’s excited to play for a championship

The University of Delaware football team is settled in at a sports complex near the site of their Friday championship game in Frisco, Tx.

The student body is on winter break, but a hardy group were at the Carpenter Complex Tuesday morning to cheer as coach K.C. Keeler’s Blue Hen team boarded a bus to New Castle County Airport.  They took a chartered plane to Dallas.  Frisco is north of the city.

UD and Eastern Washington University will play in Friday’s NCAA Division I-AA championship game. Delaware and Eastern Washington kick off at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on  ESPN2.

This is the 3rd University of Delaware team to play for the championship since 2003.  The 2003 team went on to win the championship.  The 2007 team fell short to Appalachian State.
