Former Tower Hill headmaster on the lam?

An arrest warrant has been issued for former Tower Hill School headmaster Christopher Wheeler, who faces 25 counts of dealing in child pornography.

The 53-year-old’s Wilmington home and office located on the private school’s campus were searched last week as part of a joint criminal investigation by Delaware’s Dept. of Justice and the Wilmington Police Dept.

The Attorney General’s office says the Delaware Child Predator Task Force recovered multiple images of child pornography on the multiple computers and digital media seized during the search.

The arrest warrant was issued yesterday, but the AG’s office says detectives are still looking for Wheeler.

The state and Wilmington Police are asking anyone who may have information to assist in locating Wheeler to immediately contact Wilmington Police Detective Cecilia Ashe at (302) 576-3649.

No comment about the charges from Tower Hill at this time, despite efforts to reach the school. Last week, the school’s board of trustees named Harry Baetjer as the acting head of the school. The head of the upper school has been with the school for over 43 years.
