Another candidate is jumping into the race for an at-large seat in Philadelphia City Council.

“When Councilman [Jim] Kenney decided to resign to run for mayor and Councilwoman Tasco decided to resign, a number of people reached out to me — considering I ran in 2007 — and encouraged me to run again,” he said.

Green’s decision to run for the at-large seat gives Pennsylvania Rep. Cherelle Parker a clear path to Tasco’s district seat. Tasco endorsed Parker when she announced her retirement, and Parker is expected to make her intentions official within the next week.
