First cases of influenza confirmed in Del.

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Public health officials say three cases of influenza for the 2012-2013 season have been confirmed.

The Division of Public Health said Friday the cases of type B were confirmed by lab tests. The patients are a 15-year-old girl in Smyrna; a 27-year-old woman in Seaford, and a 4-year-old girl in Bear. None was hospitalized.

DPH urges all residents 6 months of age and older who have not yet been vaccinated against the flu to get a vaccine as soon as possible.
