Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your loved ones at Hagley on Saturday, February 14. Victorine’s Valentine’s Day is a sweet family event with something for everyone. This event celebrates the life and legacy of Victorine du Pont Bauduy. Victorine was the eldest daughter of E. I. du Pont, who built the mills on the Brandywine. Hagley Museum and Library.
A Band Called Honalee brings together three gifted young artists whose passion and enthusiasm for folk music sparks an invigorating return to the era of Peter, Paul and Mary. Sarah Hunt, Chris Ware and Eli Zoller offer a fresh take on this music, enlivening it with today’s version of the same youthful energy that sparked the folk movement. The Grand Opera House.
A full evening of entertainment and fun with music by The Glass Onion, live and silent auctions, hearty hors d’oeuvres, open bar until 11:30 p.m. and dancing, lots of dancing! Fall in Love is the event to attend in Dover on Valentine’s Day from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The Schwartz Theatre will come Alive Again with a concert and dance to be held in the beautiful theatre at the Schwartz. The communities of supporters for the arts are promised an evening of great music, spirit tastings from three Kent County premier craft distributors of wine, beer and spirits, and some sweet treats as well. Netrebko stars as the beautiful blind girl who experiences love for the first time in Iolanta, while Nadja Michael is the unwitting victim of the diabolical Bluebeard, played by Mikhail Petrenko. Both operas are directed by Mariusz Trelinski, who was inspired by classic noir films of the 1940s. Iolanta also stars Piotr Beczala, and Valery Gergiev conducts both operas.
