Family affair

Reporter Tom MacDonald is at the Mummers press conference, where details of the parade’s new family friendly initiatives were revealed.

Tom reports: This year the parade will add more performance zones with seating and places for families to get children warm. There will be a new performance zone at Pine street and also at the Creative and Performing Arts High School, where there will be face painting and hot chocolate for the children. The goal is to bring more people out to view the event, which features some 10,000 performers.
