Failed burglary at Johnny Manana’s caught on tape [video]

Philadelphia Police released surveillance video of an unsuccessful February burglary at Johnny Manana’s restaurant in East Falls, hoping the public can help identify the unknown suspect.

According to police, the unknown man broke several glass doors to gain entry to the business located at Ridge and Midvale avenues around 5 a.m. last Wednesday.

“While inside, the suspect damaged the cash register while attempting to gain access but was unsuccessful,” police said. “After a failed attempt at opening the cash register, the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.”

He is described as a black man with a medium build who wore a dark-colored knit ski hat, dark-colored jacket and jeans at the time of the break-in.

Police ask anyone with information about the case, or suspect, to call Northwest Detective Division at (215) 686-3353/54 or the tipsline at (215) 686-TIPS, text a tip to PPD TIP (773847) or send it in via the department’s website.
