A protest by The Center for Popular Democracy drew a large crowd starting at 10 a.m. this morning, but it died down by 3 p.m. According to @PhiladelphiaGov on Twitter, the rolling road closures have ended around City Hall. Another protest is expected to start at Rittenhouse Square at 4 p.m. (more info here), that will cause more delays back into Center City.

The largest restrictions on foot and street traffic and parking that we already know about will be surrounding the Loews Philadelphia Hotel at 12th and Market streets, and those will be in place all day. The Secret Service has put pedestrian blocks around the 1100 and 1200 blocks of Market Street, 12th Street from Chestnut to Filbert and 13th Street from Chestnut to Market streets.

Follow @SEPTA and @PhiladelphiaGov on Twitter for live updates on all of this information, including when parking and pedestrian accessibility has opened up this evening, and to ask questions about transportation home.

Here’s some detailed information via the city

The following roads will remain closed until at least 6 p.m.:

13th Street from Chestnut Street to Market Street
Market Street from 11th Street to Juniper Street
12th Street from Chestnut to Arch Street

Parking restrictions

The following parking restrictions are in effect. Parking will open sometime this evening:

13th Street from Chestnut to Market Streets
Market Street from 11th Street to Juniper Street

The United States Secret Service is establishing a secure perimeter that will limit pedestrian access to the following streets through this evening :

Mass transit

The Broad Street Line will not be affected, however there are some delays to keep in mind if you’re traveling inside the city later this evening. There are delays and reroutes on the Market-Frankford Line, trolley routes, and buses:

13th St. Station is closed today. To enter the station, go through the 11th and 15th Street Stations. The Dilworth Park entrance will be open all day.

Bus routes are on temporary detours all day and may be delayed due to protests, street traffic and conditions. Refer to a detailed list of bus reroutes  here. Buses will drop off customers as close to stops as possible, but expect discrepancies.

CCT will operate regular service — with the exception of the already closed portions of Center City.

Access to the Regional Rail Jefferson Station on Market Street will remain closed through Thursday. Use doors on Filbert Street or 11th Street.
