Early morning fire reported at Manayunk salon

A fire broke out inside a Manayunk salon on Tuesday morning.

Philadelphia Fire Chief Richard Davis says fire fighters arrived at Fedora Salon and Spa, at 4167 Main Street, just after 1 a.m. to find smoke coming from the first floor.

Flames were placed under control within 15 minutes.

“It appears it could have been a malfunctioning heater,” Davis said. “But the cause of the fire is still being investigated.”
