Drexel Demo at 32nd and Market makes way for new LeBow

Drexel University’s Matheson Hall has been reduced to a pile of rubble to make way the new LeBow College of Business.  Walking past yesterday, Matheson was a dusty heap of twisted rebar and concrete. In its place, Drexel is building a $92 million, 12-story business center for LeBow. Construction is expected to continue into 2014.

Make way for LeBow.

Matheson Hall opened in 1965 and Drexel has gotten a little nostalgic through its loss. At the Sledgehammer ceremony, they opened a time capsule that was discovered when a plaque was removed from the building. People are also invited to share their Matheson memories online.
