Philadelphia children’s book illustrator continues to hand-sketch illustrations

While some illustrators today are switching over to digital programs to help generate their drawings, Philadelphia children’s book illustrator Matt Phelan continues to hand-sketch with pencils and paint with watercolor.

His portfolio includes 20 books, three of which he’s both illustrated and written, including the award-winning 2010 graphic novel “The Storm in the Barn.” Matt Phelan joins Dave Heller on Newsworks Tonight.
