Dog of the Week: Bessie

This sweetheart is Bessie (A12433243). She is a boxer mix and was surrendered for adoption because her owners could no longer care for her. She is 5 years old and has already been spayed. She is extremely scared here in the shelter and is very confused as to why she is here. Bessie is most likely house-trained and will need a refresher course when she gets into her new home.

Bessie didn’t show any interest in cats but we can test her again if you have cats. She is still nervous around other dogs, but she wasn’t aggressive with them. Once she opens up a little more we will test her again. This wonderful girl deserves a soft bed and loving home. Do you have room for her?

These animals are located at Philadelphia’s animal control shelter, ACCT. They need immediate adoption or foster care.
