Dickinson Square Park renewed, reopened
For months the core of Dickinson Square Park has been blocked off with construction fencing while crews worked on a $1.2 million park renewal project. But on July 25 neighbors celebrated the reopening of Dickinson Square Park.
I popped by Dickinson Square in late July to check out the new children’s play area, benches, plantings, basketball court, lighting, and paths. The refreshed park looks fantastic, and when I visited kids were already swarming the play equipment and neighbors were chatting on benches. The park’s core feels much more open after several very large trees were removed (due to disease) and many were aggressively pruned for safety purposes.
Welcome back, Dickinson Square Park. It’s great to see you back in action.
