Delaware takes part in World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
Several programs today in Delaware are recognizing the 6th annual World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
The program is an effort to recognize the various forms of abuse inflicted upon the elderly: physical, emotional, finaicial exploitation and more. The Delaware Senior Protection Initiative and Delaware Aging Network are hosting programs at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Newark Senior Center, the Modern Maturity Center in Dover, and CHEER Community Center in Sussex County. Delawareans are also encouraged to wear purple to honor the occasion. CLICK HERE to find out more about the problem of elderly abuse and resources available in Delaware.
