Bruce O. Kallos will serve as the new Chair of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra.

Kallos has served on the DSO board for five years and was named Vice Chair in 2013. Kallos has experience leading several other non-profit organizations.

“Members are working hard on behalf of the DSO and are focused on a number of key areas such as fund-raising, marketing and strengthening relationships between the orchestra’s board and musicians,” the DSO announced in a press release.

The DSO made the decision following the resignation of Tatiana Copeland.

The board credits Copeland with improving the symphony’s financial health and strengthening the board of directors. In honor of her service, the board voted to name Copeland Chair Emeritus of the DSO.

“The board has fully recognized that Mrs. Copeland’s leadership has been instrumental in guiding the DSO through one of its most challenging periods,” officials from the DSO said. “She leaves assurance that Delawareans will continue to enjoy symphonic music performed by one of the state’s foremost arts organizations for many years to come.”
