Delaware police search for female burglar

The search continues for a woman who police say robbed three Delaware banks including two this week.

According to Delaware State Police, the most recent robbery happened at a Stanton area WSFS Bank Branch, that’s located inside the Shop Rite Supermarket. Investigators say it was 4:27 p.m. on Thursday, April 5th when a white woman, 24 to 30 years of age, and at least five foot tall, entered the bank, demanding cash from one of the tellers by note. Police say the teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash because the note indicated that the red haired woman was armed with a weapon.

While an investigation is currently underway, detectives believe the woman also burglarized the Citizens Bank Branch, located inside of the Acme Supermarket in Pike Creek on two separate occasions. One incident took place on Wednesday, April 4th, while the other happened last month on Saturday, March 24th. Similar to Thursday’s robbery, the suspect presented a demand note for cash. The bank tellers in those incidents also complied with the suspect’s demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of money, even though no weapon was produced.

In the meantime, no one was hurt in any of the bank robberies. However, the Delaware State Police remain focused on nabbing the suspect and urge anyone with information to contact Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
