Members of the Delaware National Guard are taking part in the monumental effort to secure the sports complex in Philadelphia during this week’s Democratic Convention.

The Delaware Army National Guard’s 31st Civil Support Team have been in place this week at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, ready to respond to any emergency that might arise. The team is trained to mitigate the consequences of any natural disaster or even the use of a weapon of mass destruction.

While at the DNC this week, Delaware Senator Chris Coons visited with members of the team and got a tour of their set up. “They are a very capable, very well trained, very strong team,” Coons said. “Today I took the time to thank these men and women for their service.”
