Delaware lawmakers begin final meeting day of the year

The Delaware General Assembly is meeting at Legislative Hall in Dover to conclude its work for 2012.

The House goes in at 4:00 p.m. while the Senate session begins at 6:00 p.m.  Key votes include the capital budget (bond bill) grant-in-aid for nonprofits and various institutions, a bill to codify child abuse as a crime in Delaware, and a measure regarding social media password privacy.  Through the state’s website you can listen to audio while lawmakers are in session and track the progress of a bill.  Newsworks.org/delaware and WHYY 90.9 FM also will have coverage of the General Assembly’s final hours, as will “First” on WHYY TV 12 Friday at 5:30 p.m.
