Delaware has launched a new marketing tool designed to attract more foreign business to the First State.

Gov. Jack Markell today unveiled CorpLaw.Delaware.Gov, a website designed to help international investors learn more about incorporating in Delaware.

The website is accessible in ten different languages (English, Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish) and details the state’s corporate business laws and benefits.

Markell recently met with foreign investors and international business owners at a conference in Washington, D.C. The governor said many expressed interest in expanding business and incorporating in the United States and it’s important to make sure Delaware is a top choice.

“Many of the businesses there have heard about Delaware as a great place to incorporate,” explained Markell. “They didn’t necessarily know all the reasons why. They had just heard our name. This initiative is just one example of how important it is and how we’re going to go about expanding our international outreach.”

Delaware Secretary of State Jeffery Bullock said they will be able to utilize the website as a marketing and networking tool during overseas trips.

“It becomes part of what we market when our judges or in some case myself or the governor are traveling around the country or somewhere abroad, it’s something that we promote from now on,” said Bullock.

The website will feature regular email updates and blog posts with the latest information on corporate law in the state.

“The site allows us to leverage technology to reach a broader audience and to continue the conversation after the international mission comes to an end,” said Markell. “Like any use of technology, what’s most exciting about this website is not what you see today, but how it will evolve, adding greater and greater content to communicate our message,” added Markell.

The website was designed through collaboration between the Governor and Secretary of State’s offices as well as the Delaware Court of Chancery and international attorneys.
