Delaware City hires former state GOP leader

Delaware City has hired Richard Cathcart as their new City Manager.

The News Journal reports Cathcart is retiring from his position at Delaware State University. He told the paper his retirement had nothing to do with a state auditor’s investigation into the awarding of illegal contracts.

Cathcart will be paid $80,000.  Mayor John Buchheit says he hopes Cathcart will be able to secure funding for future projects.
