Dam work starts in Seaford

Construction on a new spillway at the Hearns Pond Dam near Seaford gets underway this week.
The auxiliary spillway will allow for a supplemental outlet for excess water from Hearns Pond.  The pond level will be lowered by several feet to allow the construction to take place near the north end of the dam in the area  next to the boat ramp.  The pond level will remain below normal throughout construction, which is expected to take four to six weeks.
