Wissahickon Valley Orange Trail near Cresheim Creek – A teenage girl said that a man approached her at around 8:40 a.m. April 11, knocked her to the ground and tried to sexually assault her. She was able to break free from the man and ran to the Valley Green Inn. Complainant was taken to the Special Victims Unit. (read full story) (Police bulletin pdf)

April 5, 2011

E. Chelten Ave. / E. Wister Ave. – complainant said he was approached by four juveniles and attacked while waiting for the bus at around 3:32 p.m. Complainant said the group punched him and threw him into a wall. He was taken to the hospital afterwards.

Unit block E. Seymour St. – electronic oven, two Sony speakers, four rims with tires from a Ford Expedition and more stolen from the property.

700 block E. Chelten Ave. –two wheel barrels filled with stucco were stolen from the property. Complainant said the property is being renovated and does not have an alarm.

100 block E Duval St. – complainant said someone stole $400 from a drawer while he in the hospital between March 29 and April 4.

200 block Rosemary Lane – three Dell laptops, two TVs, Wii controller and two pillow cases stolen from the property. Complainant said someone took the lock off her door and took the items.

6200 block Germantown Ave. – 37″ flat screen TV stolen from a self storage unit between 6 p.m. Feb. 28 and 7 p.m. April 6.

7700 block Winston Road – four leaf blowers, three weed-wackers, snow blower, two chainsaws and more stolen from a landscape design company. Complainant said someone cut the locks on three sheds and stole the items.

100 block W. Willow Grove Ave. – pocketbook, various credit cards and a red wallet stolen from a 2005 Subaru. There was no forced entry.

 

April 6, 2011

800 block E. Rittenhouse St. – two designer watches, a Louis Vuitton belt, safe containing cash and a shotgun stolen from the property between 5:40-8:30 p.m. April 6.

E Washington Lane / Mansfield Ave. – 26 guard rail bases and 20 fences bases were stolen from a construction site. Superintendent of the site said at around 6:15 a.m. March 25 a white van drove into the area and took the items. The complainant provided surveillance tape of the incident.

 

April 7, 2011

7400 block Briar Road – two tires with factory rims stolen from a 2008 Chevy.

5300 block Germantown Ave. – complainant said someone grabbed him, hit him with an unknown and stole his gym bag.

100 block Roumfort Road – complainant said someone stole a chandelier from her door-less garage.

 

April 8, 2011

7400 block Thouron Ave. – 1998 Mercury Sable stolen between 6:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. April 7. The car also contained a digital camera and some mail.

700 block E. Haines St. – three people were robbed at gunpoint at around 12:50 p.m. April 8 by a man and a woman. The offenders ran off with $440, three cell phones and a pair of Nike sneakers.

6700 block Bass St. – Dell laptop stolen from the property between 9 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. April 8. Complainant said someone entered through a kitchen window and took the item from a second floor bedroom.

500 block E. Tulpehocken St. – vehicle title for a 1995 Oldsmobile, gold earrings and two digital cameras stolen from the property between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. April 7. Complainant said her half brother was the only other person in the house at the time.

500 block Brinton St. – electric meter stolen from the property between 9:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. April 8. There were no signs of a forced entry. Complainant said the landlord is the only other person with keys to the house.

6600 block Lincoln Drive – 2003 GMC Yukon stolen between 8 p.m. April 7 and 6:30 a.m. April 8.

6600 Wayne Ave. – jewelry stolen from the property between 6-10 p.m. Complainant said she returned home with her husband to find the front door partially open.

8100 block Williams Ave. – complainant said two men robbed him at around 10:30 p.m. while he was walking through an alleyway towards a friend’s house. The offenders ran off with $220.

8300 block Rodney St. – 42″ Vizio TV, Xbox game system, laptop, Wii game system, three watches and more stolen from the property. Complainant said someone entered through a back bedroom window sometime after 6 p.m. April 7.

 

April 9, 2011

7700 block Temple Rd. – complainant said she was robbed at gunpoint by two men. The offenders fled in a dark sedan with a black purse containing a wallet, various IDs, credit cards and approximately $200.

Chew Ave. / E. Hortter St. – complainant said he was in his car when two men approached and robbed him at gunpoint. Offenders ran off with wallet containing $30, credit card, ID cards and a SS card.

200 W. Walnut Lane – complainant said an acquaintance picked her up at a bar while she was intoxicated and drove her to his place. There he had sex with her without her consent.

8600 block Bayard St. – handgun stolen from the property. Complainant said his cousin took the firearm without his permission after he left for work.

 

April 10, 2011

800 block E. Chelten Ave. – 10 cartons of cigarettes and $700 stolen from a Laundromat. The store’s owner said he arrived at 5:30 a.m. to find that someone had pushed in the air conditioner and entered the business. Complainant said the surveillance camera had been unplugged.

2300 block 78th Ave. – complainant said someone was kicking her rear door. He then broke the window and tried to enter the property. The man also kicked the doors of several other tenants. The man was later arrested.

1700 block Mayland St. – complainant said he was shot two times in the legs and once in the back. He said he was walking at the location when he heard gunshots and then realized he’d been hit. Complainant was taken to the hospital and was listed in stable condition. He told police he didn’t have any more information about the incident.

700 block Vernon Road – complainant said he was robbed at gun point. The offender ran off with a white jacket, wallet, $180, car keys and a cell phone, among other items.

200 block W. Gorgas Lane – bike, weed-wacker, leaf blower and a hedge trimmer stolen from the property between 4 p.m. April 7 and 9:30 a.m. April 10. Complainant said the items were taken from an unsecured garage.

7200 block Devon St. – red bike and two car ramps stolen from the property between 12:30-8 a.m. April 10. Items were taken from a garage.

 

April 11, 2011

E. Chelten Ave. / Baynton St. – 1994 Jeep Cherokee stolen from the train station between 8 a.m. and 4:49 p.m. April 11.

Unit block Valley Green Road – A teenage girl said that a man approached her at around 8:40 a.m. April 11, knocked her to the ground and tried to sexually assault her. She was able to break free from the man and ran to the Valley Green Inn. Complainant was taken to the Special Victims Unit.

8200 block Pickering Ave. – 1995 Ford Crown Victoria stolen sometime around 5:20 p.m. Complainant said a man approached him at the location and demanded he hand over his keys. When the complainant refused, the offender struck the complainant with a gun, grabbed the keys and took off in the car.

 

April 12, 2011

7200 block Limekiln Pike – complainant said someone walked up to her, said hello and then punched her in the mouth, knocking her to the ground. The offender then began to grab at her, but fled after the complainant started screaming. Nothing was taken.

Unit block E. Walnut Lane – electric meter box stolen sometime before 4:30 p.m. April 12. Complainant notified PECO as there is no power in his home.

5500 block Crowson St. – twenty pairs of Nike sneakers, socks and shirts stolen from a store at the location.

100 block W. Hortter St. – three TVs, a PS3 game system and five games stolen from the property. Complainant said she came home at around 9 p.m. April 12 and found her front door partially opened. There is no alarm system at the location.

Unit block W. Coulter St. – complainant said he was walking to his cousin’s house when two men approached him and attacked him. Nothing was taken. Complainant was taken to the hospital for injuries he sustained to left eye and cheek.
