Writers, photographers and students fill WHYY station for freelance training program

Nearly 100 aspiring NewsWorks contributors came to WHYY’s headquarters last week to sharpen up their multimedia skills and learn how NewsWorks runs its freelance operation.

Teachers, English majors, journalism students and many of NewsWorks’ current freelancers sat in on various training workshops in news writing, reporting, photography, audio gathering and videography.

NewsWorks journalists taught each of the 45-minute skill-building workshops.

On behalf of NewsWorks, we’d like to thank those of you who were able to attend Correspondents U. If you weren’t able to make it, don’t worry, this won’t be the last one.
