Controversial Delaware development to be discussed at land use meeting

A proposal to build a large shopping center along Route 141 is the focus of today’s meeting of the New Castle County Council Land Use Committee.

The rezoning of property at Barley Mill Plaza near Route 141 and Route 48 is being sought by a Pennsylvania developer, Kevin Stoltz.  Stoltz has already reduced the size of the original proposal, but local citizens are still concerned about the possible impact on traffic and overall quality of life in the area.  The Land Use Committee meeting takes place at 3:00 p.m. on the 8th floor of the Redding City-County Building, 800 North French Street, Wilmington.  New Castle County Council will take up the committee’s recommendation at its regular meeting October 11th.
