Confusion over Phillies game viewing at Occupy Philly event

Leave it to baseball to create tension around what’s so far been a peaceful movement.

It’s not clear whether or not you’ll be able to catch the Phillies game at City Hall tonight as part of the Occupy Philly protest, but at this point, it doesn’t look as if the city will be providing the resources for that, should it happen at all.

Mayoral spokesman Mark McDonald told our Lizz Fiedler this morning the city won’t be indulging Occupy Philly’s requests for a Phillies viewing, especially since the protesters don’t have a permit.

Philly Weekly reports the group is expected to get the $20 permit, but the subject of whether the game will be shown – -and by whom — has generated some confusion and disagreement. Protests have been peaceful thus far.
