Collingswood’s 4th annual Pop Up Gala date revealed
Wearing white after Labor Day? You’ll be seriously in vogue if heading to the 4th annual Pop Up Gala in Collingswood, New Jersey on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016.
It’s the fourth time around for Collingswood’s take on the trendy secret dinner party, Diner En Blanc, which began 28 years ago in Paris. The confidential, one-night only eating event has been adopted by cities across the globe, including Philadelphia.
The idea is to enhance use of public space with a pop up soiree attended by hundreds who leave no trace of their presence when done.
Participants must register in advance, with the knowledge that they won’s actually know just where they’ll be dining before the event begins. On the day of the dinner, they’ll be directed to a meet-up site, where a team leader will guide them to the top secret location to dine al fresco.
It’s a very D.I.Y. affair with some pretty strict rules.
Attendees are expected to wear all white and bring all of their own dining items: tables, chairs, white tablecloths, non-disposable dishes and flatware, candlelit centerpieces, plus food and drink.
They also must clean it all up at end.
Oh, and no singles allowed. Tickets are only sold in pairs.
In case you’re wondering, the tickets pay for live music entertainment, photography, logistics and restrooms.
Tickets cost $50 (for two) from now until midnight, Sept. 9, 2016.
Saturday, Sept. 10, 7 p.m. (rain or shine) – TBA, Collingswood, N.J.
Tickets can only be purchased online
