Christie to meet with prime mister of India
Gov. Chris Christie is heading to New York to meet with the prime minister of India.
Christie is scheduled to meet with Narendra Modi in Manhattan on Saturday afternoon.
Modi, who has a huge social media following, has received a rock star reception during his first visit to the U.S.
He’ll speak at a sold-out appearance at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. And he’ll join President Barack Obama for dinner on Monday and attend a State Department lunch the next day.
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is also heading to New York this weekend to meet with Modi. She’ll be bringing along her husband and her parents, who were born in India.
Christie’s office didn’t respond to questions about what had prompted the meeting or what the pair would discuss.
