Christie to headline California GOP convention lunch
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is in California, making his pitch to donors as he considers a run for president in 2016.
Christie will headline the California Republican Party’s spring 2015 convention luncheon in Sacramento on Saturday afternoon. He’s been in the state raising money for his political action committee and introducing himself to potential backers.
Christie has had a busy schedule, with closed-door events in Newport Beach, San Francisco and Sacramento. He’ll also attend a meet-and-greet with state legislators in Sacramento and a reception in Los Angeles later Saturday in a crowded field that includes former Florida.
Christie appears to be struggling to lock up donors. He faces tough competition from potential rivals, including former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
