Chris Christie receives Father of the Year award

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has been honored for his parenting skills.

The National Father’s Day Committee crowned the Republican governor a Father of the Year at an awards ceremony in New York on Wednesday.

Christie is a dad to four children and often talks about them in speeches and at events. He joked that when his children found out he’d been chosen for the honor, they reacted with disbelief. He says he was surprised by the award himself.

He also thanked his kids for putting up with “me and my crazy life.”
