Chick-fil-A to use chicken without antibiotics

Chick-fil-A says its plans to serve only chicken raised without antibiotics within the next five years.

The Atlanta-based fast-food chain says it’s working with its suppliers to build an adequate supply. It says it’s asking suppliers to work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to verify that no antibiotics are administered on the chickens at any point.

The announcement comes after Chick-fil-A told the AP late last year that it was making a number of changes to remove high fructose corn syrup and artificial dyes from its dressings and sauces.

Chipotle also says it tries to use meat raised without antibiotics whenever possible.
