The Woodmere Art Museum, located at 9201 Germantown Ave., is hosting “A Tribute to Drumming Legends: Max Roach, Art Blakey, and Philly Joe Jones” on Friday May 18, 6 to 8 p.m. Performances include Warren Oree and the Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble joining these three Philadelphia drummers to honor the significant work of jazz percussionist and composer Max Roach, rhythmic genius Art Blakey, and Philly Joe Jones. Tickets are $20 and $10 for members. There will also be an event on Friday for the whole family, “Let’s Make Rhythm Instruments!” which is free to attend.
