Are you a fan of history? Attend a “Speaker Night” with the Chestnut Hill Historical Society about early European settlers of the area.This “Speaker Night” event will focus on early European settlements of Chestnut Hill and Springfield Township and will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 1710 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown.

Presentations will include “Lay of the Land: Revolutionary Springfield and Chestnut Hill,” by J.M. Duffin, editor of “Acta Germanopolis, Records of the Corporation of Germantown, Pennsylvania. 1691-1707” and “Who Are the Schwenkfelders?” by David Luz, executive director of the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center. The moderator will be Miles Orvell, professor of English and American Studies at Temple University.
