Charlie Manuel apologies for unmet expectation

Way back in 2008, the Phillies won the World Series.

Champagne was flowing, cars were overturned on Broad Street and Cottman and Frankford was awash in red.

Cut to 2011 and we’re now three seasons without a series win. The Phils didn’t even clinch the NLDS this year. As you do whatever you have to to recover, Manger Charlie Manuel has something to say.

Manuel has apologized for the team failing to meet fans’ expectations, as seen in this NBC10 video. The fans and media expected a win, he said (yes we did), and despite a “tremendous regular season,” the Phils just couldn’t play well enough in the post season to advance.
