[Update] In July 2015, the Superior Court of the state of Delaware dropped all charges against the driver named in this story, citing lack of evidence.

Delaware State Police have arrested a cab driver they say sexually assaulted a passenger. Troopers say on Aug. 15, a woman hailed a cab after leaving a restaurant in Dewey Beach and got into the front passenger seat.

Police say the woman fell asleep, and awoke to the driver sexually assaulting her. Officers say the woman forced the driver away and demanded that he take her home. The woman was taken to her home.

Troopers say 30-year-old Khalid Chablaoui of New Castle, the owner-operator of I-Taxi cab service, turned himself at state police barracks on Thursday. He is charged with fourth-degree rape.
