Manayunk barber stays in trim, 65 years on

On Main Street in Manayunk, there sits a small building with a storefront window that offers a small glimpse into the past.

Louis Tallarico’s barbershop may not look very hip or modern, but that’s because it’s been around for almost half a century.

Founded by his father in 1933, Louis has since taken the reins as owner and sole barber in the joint.

Many of the items in the shop are from when it first opened, but don’t let the antiquated feel fool you.

Tallarico has seen Manayunk grow and evolve over the years, but unlike most, he finds comfort in change.

This video portrait shows Tallarico holding court in the place where he’s spent most of life, dispensing wisdom along with a shave.
