Cat of the Week: Peony
UPDATE: Peony has been adopted!
Hello! My name is Peony. Yes, like the flower.
I am a beautiful young cat, and I hear that the weather is getting nice, and the days are getting longer, and that a lot of my cat friends are living in a home with big windows to sunbathe in. I hear that their human families are starting to open the windows so they can smell the sweet cut grass, the lovely Spring flowers, and watch the birds and the butterflies fly about. Man, would I LOVE to do those things!
But unfortunately, I am currently living in the shelter. You see, I lived with my family for most of my life – more than two years. They said many nice things about me because I am a very nice girl, after all. I love everyone – men, women, children. As long as someone is petting me and scratching me, I’m happy.
As I got older though, my owners weren’t very responsible pet owners, and never had me spayed, or took me to the vet for shots. My instincts started to kick in, and I began to pee outside my litter box. It wasn’t all the time, but my hormones were telling me to! So, my family left me here. Being spayed will help me be a perfect young lady, and my surgery is included in my adoption.
Now, more about me. I am adorable, just A-DOR-A-BLE. I have a super soft black and white coat, with the coolest tail. My new human friends at the shelter say that the white tip on my tail is really cute. I like to hold my tail up high, so it’s almost like a flag! I’m trying to flag down an adopter so I can move back into a home. I am super sweet as well, and will meow for attention, and purr and flop over on my side.
I’ve been at the shelter for a while now, and have started to come down with a cold. So, now I’m in the isolation room, where there are even less people visiting me. I really need a foster or forever home! I promise to be on my best behavior, and to love you and keep you company throughout the years. Stop by and meet me . I’m very much looking forward to meeting YOU!
