Cat of the Week: Didi

Meet Didi! Didi (A15175774) is a stunning black and orange tortie. This gorgeous girl was surrendered because her owner didn’t have enough time for her.

Didi is only about a year old and just terrified in the noisy shelter. Her previous owner noted she used her litter box and lived with other cats. They also noted that she had good manners, is good with other cats, likes everyone, is friendly and loves to be with people.

But at the shelter, Didi just hides in her box and gets scared when approached. She is starting to come out of her shell a tiny bit, and we found she loves catnip and treats. Didi would greatly benefit from a quiet, loving foster or adoptive home that will give her time to adjust. We know she is a playful, friendly kitten, but the noisy, busy shelter is tough on such a young lady and Didi is not herself.

Didi is part of ACCT’s Shy Cats Club, a program that works with cats that are scared or shy in the shelter. She is paired with a volunteer who is dedicated to helping her find a foster or adoptive home and who spends time with her to help her stay happy and stress- free while living in the shelter.

These animals are located at Philadelphia’s animal control shelter, ACCT. They need immediate adoption or foster care. ACCT is located at 111 W Hunting Park Ave and is open 365 days a year. Adoption hours are Monday-Friday; 1pm-8pm; Saturday and Sunday; 10am-5pm. To check the status of an animal, call 267-385-3800. Check in every week with NEast Philly to see the cat and dog of the week.
