Carla Markell speaks at cancer center tea

Carla Markell will talk about her experiences as a breast cancer survivor during the Friends the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center’s Fall Tea.

The event this morning is held at the Graham Cancer Center on the campus of Christiana Hospital.  Mrs. Markell was diagnosed with breast cancer after undergoing a routine exam in March of 2005.  She recently celebrated her sixth-year anniversary as a breast cancer survivor.

The Graham Cancer Center is the home for the Center for Translational Cancer Research, which enables Christiana Care doctors and University of Delaware researchers to work in concert to discover better ways to fight cancer and offer bench-to-the-bedside treatments.
