Camden’s Cooper University Hospital to receive federal grant worth $3.3 million

    Cooper University Hospital in Camden is set to receive more than $920,000 as part of the first installment in a three year federal grant worth $3.3 million.

    The Gloucester County Times reports the grant will allow the hospital to hire 14 new employees and is expected to save millions through improved long-term care and improved care for patients with special medical needs.

    The grant is administered through the Affordable Care Act.

    According to the Gloucester County Times, the funding is expected to save the hospital an estimated $6 million by providing preventative care services and better monitoring of patient transitions.
