Bradley items destroyed by State Police

State Police have destroyed or disposed of items owned by a Delaware pediatrician accused of sexually abusing more than 100 patients.

The items belonging to Dr. Earl Bradley had been kept at the Secure Self Storage Unit in Rehoboth Beach.  The items had been scheduled to be auctioned by the storage company earlier this week.  The company instead turned over the items to the state.

State Police say the decision to destroy the items was to alleviate concerns of the family of victims and others in the community that the items would be resold or used again.

Earlier this week, the judge in the criminal case against Bradley issued a letter announcing his decision to delay the trial because Bradley’s lawyers are tied up in defending the man accused of killing Georgetown Police officer Chad Spicer.  The judge’s letter also announced the decision to move the trial from Sussex to New Castle County.
