Beer legislation to be introduced

State lawmakers will announce a new beer bill designed to promote craft beer sales and help state liquor stores.

Rep. Debra Heffernan will introduce the legislation at Peco’s liquor store in Wilmington this afternoon. The legislation would allow state liquor stores to sell 64-ounce containers of draught beer.

Currently, craft beer drinkers can only purchase the containers, called growlers, at breweries and brewpubs.
