Basketball bragging rights are on the line as Delaware, Maryland teams meet

High school basketball squads from Delaware and Maryland are seeing plenty of action during this holiday week.

The governors of the two states also have a friendly wager:  in 2010, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley offered a Smith Island Cake for Delaware Governor Jack Markell’s Peach Pie.  The Governor’s Challenge Tournament was born as a result.  Action takes place between now and Friday at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury Maryland.  Delaware is the reigning champion.  CLICK HERE for more information.
